Colonial DBL Spindle Repair Case Study

The following Colonial Spindle was sent to us, heavily worn and rusted. It was clear that it had seen a lot of use. The spindle was locked up, and was not test run because of this. Disassembly of the DBL series spindle revealed there was a number surfaces on the spindles shaft which were worn, including parts of its inner and outer diameters. The shaft was sent out for Chrome & Grind work, and received within a few days. Once bearings, O-rings and seals were received from our vendors, one of our experienced Spindle Technicians assembled the Colonial Spindle. The spindle was then balanced with exacting precision. A fresh coat of paint was applied to several surfaces of the spindle, to ensure the longevity of it’s operation. This spindle was repaired and returned to the customer in a little over a week. Our spindle techs are quite confident that this spindle will run accurately for a long time.
