Colonial Spindle Repair Case Study

Colonial Spindle repair services

Motor City Spindle Repair received this Colonial Spindle in very poor condition. Apart from the aesthetic damage and rust to the body of the spindle, it was also locked up due to the bearings failing. Because the spindle was locked up, it was not test run and was immediately disassembled and inspected. Inside the spindle, there was further evidence of wear and tear. The lock nut that holds the pulley on the spindle shaft was replaced due to it having a broken bolt in it. There were also no pulley keys received with the spindle, so a pair of them were manufactured in house.  New seals, O-rings and precision bearings were ordered. Once all parts were cleaned, received and ready, one of our skilled Spindle Technicians assembled the Colonial Spindle. After assembly, the spindle was balanced with expert precision, so it ran with little to no vibrations. The spindle was then test run for 4 hours, and shipped out after passing all of our quality control criteria. We are confident that this spindle will run smoothly and precisely for years to come.
