Motor City Spindle Repair recently received a Enshu JE50 spindle from one the largest manufactures of Powertrain components in North America.  We received this unit into our shipping department and closely examined the spindle by one of our (6) spindle technicians.  The spindle was locked up and had front end damage to the drive keys, the shaft and front cover.  Because of the extensive damage to the spindle it could not be placed on our Test Stand for vibration analysis so this spindle was taken straight to our tear down department. Upon further inspection, our tear down technician found substantial damage to the spindle shaft, drive keys, front flange and rear flange.  Our conclusion was this spindle failed as a result of a heavy crash.  A detailed quotation was submitted to our customer and after approval the repair process was started only hours after the unit was first received. Due to the severity of the crash at high speed, extensive grind work was started right away to bring this unit back to within the OEM specifications.
