My name is Ted Ladzinski and I own Motor City Spindle Repair. The word TEAM has many meanings to me. One is the simple fact that Team is an acronym for my family. My wife’s name is Monica and I have two beautiful daughters named Elisa and Ana.

Family is important to me. It’s why I work long hours so I can be good provider. It’s why I sleep so little so I can also spend more time with them doing the things I love most: coaching their hockey teams, playing hockey with them, watching hockey with them, and enjoying non hockey related events. Very proud that we are hockey family. It is a sport that teaches us how to rewarded for being aggressive, have discipline, self sacrifice and enjoy life while getting good exercise while having fun and reliving stress.
I also help run Motor City Spindle Repair where Team is something I talk about every day of my life. You’ll notice I capitalize the work Team every time I write it. It’s a habit not everyone loves but it’s something I believe needs to be capitalized on. Teamwork is vital to the success to every individual and organization. It’s something we talk about frequently because it makes us more productive and makes our job more rewarding. It is our belief in “THE MOTOR CITY WAY” which are the little things we do everyday to help us get better and better. To me it is about winning in business and all my personal affairs.
Having a Team like we have built at Motor City Spindle Repair is very important to me. It is important not one single key employee has ever quit our company in 12 years. It’s continuous growth by putting the Team first because the Team always does what is right for the customer.

I gave my two weeks notice. They were very nice about the entire situation and tried to get me to stay. I was offered more money but my mind was made up so I made the move.
At first the move seemed to be a wise decision. This Machine Tool OEM seemed to have endless resources. They were investing heavily in their CNC service department. They seemed to be looking to provide great CNC spindle repair services. New spindles test stands were needed. These were being designed and built in Germany and I was selected to travel and assist. While I was away on this trip I learned a great many things. I started to think more and more about the work culture I was now a part of. Was the grass now actually greener? Was I on the path towards a brighter future? Was I apart of the team culture I was looking for?
I had left Motor City Spindle Repair on good terms. It made sense to reevaluate what I was looking for. Could Motor City Spindle provide the both the positive working environment and occupational growth?
I reached out to owners and explained what I needed. I would rejoin their team if I would be more than a spindle repair technician. I had to become an integral part of not just the spindle room but also the entire way they run all departments that involve their spindle repair process.
We worked out the details and I rejoined the team. Now I am back at Motor City Spindle Repair and we have since moved into a huge 25,000 SF spindle remanufacturing facility in Dearborn, MI. I am no longer just a Spindle Repair Technician. I manage our Spindle Room, Tear Down Department, Inspection Department, Spindle Testing, Quality Control and the processing of all spindle components in our Machine Shop and Grinding Department!
I encourage everyone to question what it is they really want in life and who they work for. Don’t live with doubt. Work occupies some much of your life. It must be something you believe in. Search for an employer that puts the employees first. Companies that care about their employees first is the only organization I will work for because I believe in what I do and it must have a purpose. This is true no matter what industry you work in.
