The Precision Machining Technology Show (PMTS) metalworking event was a success! We shared a booth with our Grinding Partner Hardinge Group to show off the amazing Hardinge Kellenberger® 100, one of our favorite grinders that we have in-house at Motor City Spindle Repair. The event was so great and we had so much fun that we decided to share a few special moments with you.

At the PMTS I had the privilege to learn the ins and outs of the Hardinge super precision T-42 from Nathan White, son of Adam White.
Like father like son.
During my training in Elmira, New York, I was lucky enough to train under Adam White. Both father and son are amazing teachers.
In the super precision lathe, Nathan had a solid piece of carbide that looked like it was being shaped into the end of a pop can.
Normally, this piece is ground but this lathe will hold an extremely tight tolerance and will have the correct surface finish. There is no need for this part to be ground which almost always proves to be a very long and arduous process.
One day I hope one (or all!) of my children will follow in my footsteps. Adam White you have raised a fine young man.
