We frequently repair spindles in 1-3 business days in emergency situations. Our in-house machining and grinding capabilities
and qualified partners allow fast turn-arounds for components such as: spindle tapers, pilot I.D.s, front and rear bearing
journals, housing bores, draw bar shafts, splines, and many their components needed to be re-qualified or manufactured new.
Testing spindles after they are rebuilt is critical to ensure quality repairs.

At Motor City Spindle Repair, we take spindle repair testing very seriously. All components on our rebuilt spindles are fully tested and have a one year warranty. This includes the spindle bearings, spindle motor, taper, draw bars, and sensors.

Spindle testing run in procedure

• Each and every spindle is test run to maximum rpm.
• Spindles are initially ran at 10% of the maximum speed rating.
• Bearing temperature & vibration signatures are checked.
• Once verified to be within OEM specs, the rpm is increased another 10% of maximum rpm.
• Bearing temperature & vibration signatures are again re-checked.
• After they pass the spindle, rpm is increased in intervals of 10% maximum
rpm until the unit is ran at max rpm for 8 hrs.
• All spindle units are checked before & during the increase of
rpm at all intervals.
• Once they are proven to be within OEM specs they are
increased by 10% intervals of the max rpm until max
rpm is achieved.
• When maximum rpm is achieved the
spindle is ran for 2 hours.
• Only when bearing temperature and the
vibration analysis readings are
within specification is when the unit
is then approved for shipment.
