Thomas Allman- Machining Tom
Machine Shop Leader at Motor City Spindle Repair, Thomas Allman has been machining for over 25 years. His passion for designing and machining has excelled him into a trusted leader in the Machining Industry with a vast array of experience that not many can achieve in one lifetime. Thomas’s expert experience in welding, repair, and fabrication of CNC machine tools is unparalleled and we are lucky to have him!
Ralph Hunt – The Hunter
Ralph is a highly skilled Machinist with over 45 years of experience in the trade, able to cut and shape metal for various types of manufacturing. This includes the ability to read blueprints and utilize computer programming skills and experience with computer-aided design, manual and manufacturing programs. He is a true leader in our Machine Room at Motor City Spindle Repair and we can’t be happier to have him on our team!
Gary Stechow – Grinding GaryĀ
Gary is one of our Lead grinders who runs our manual Kellenberger 1500’s, OD/ID grinders and lathes.Ā Not only does he run our manual machines, he also runs our CNC Grinders and has recently received specialized, one-on-one training from #Hardinge on our CNC #Kellenberger K100.

Our unique machining and grinding capabilities allow us to cut grind-plate-grind time down in half for spindle components such as: Capto, HSK, ISO, BT, CAT, SK Tapers, Pilot I.D.s, Front and Rear Bearing Journals, Housing Bores, Draw Bar Shafts, Splines + more.
We have several Manual Grinders and high performance CNC Universal Grinding machines in our 4,000sf Grinding Room which allows us to grind the most diverse of configuration options.
While some repair facilities are incapable of grinding and repairing high end precision spindles, we are able to do both well because of our advanced machinery.
